杭州 Rush Hour...

西湖,岳王庙,丝factory, 松城,梅坞问茶,王龙洞

Yesterday was suppose to take the tour bus by 张先生. But apparently the guy could not contact us to tell us about his bus having a radiator problem. So happily we got up at 6am n got a rude WELCOME TO CHINA showcase (be prepared for anything!!!nothing goes smoothly in china). After discussion, we decided to head over to the railway station to head to 杭州 still (jus dont care!!!). Bought the economy tix which took 2.5hr to get to 杭州 (along the way lots of trees n canals only). Was there ard 11am n headed str to 西湖 on our accidental tour package which we thou we could get frm independent companies at a cheaper rate.

Super crowded n chaotic everywhere plus the freaking hot weather. The tour guide walked so fast, cannot hear wat she was sayin when she was so far in front n not caring abt the tourist at all (definitely a selfish lot this china pple). Took a boat ride to the opposite end of the lake n barely had time to take any pics ard noon when we went (next time definitely gg again to c the nite lights at the lake n pics too).

B4 we knew it, were shepherded over to 岳飞 burial to see see look look. Qte a neat place n this time kept up w the guide n heard abt the stories abt him. His place has 6 statues of officials at his tomb layout to show a high level of respect that he has frm his country (nvr hear from tour guide wat was the highest accord thou). There were also many animals (cant remember wat they represented).

Next when over to the silk warehouse which famous is famous for (boring place)than went over to the newly-built 松城which had realli few shaded parts. Had only 50mins there i think by the place was so big n not enough time to realli take pics ard the place. Tried out this old-school weightin scale that took my wt as 132jin (so divide by 2.2 will give my weigh but realli accurate lei).

Aft that went over to sample chinese tea at 梅坞问茶. The place was rather decent with insides into tea processin n its comings. But the tea that we tried 龙井茶( reportedly famous in Hangzhou) was not realli what i expected. It was rather weedy i felt. Was given a crash course in tea appreciation n think i would jus stick w my earl grey. Akso noticed those that stayed in the villages, like the pple who were at the 梅坞问茶 were rather short (diet perhaps). Headed to our last destination 王龙洞 for 10mins. Walking into the place alr took 5 over mins. Than were allowed to take pics of the square bamboos n other scenery than were back on the coach back to catch our train back to shanghai.

Ard Hangzhou in 7hrs was no doubt rushed but rather enjoyable. Got to go there again to catch the nite lights as well as to better explore the surroundin areas. Wanna feel the local way of live instead of the man-made tourist attractions. Nezt up Nanjing next wkend!!!
